After surviving the chaos of Volley Random, Max thought he had earned a break. But peace was short-lived when his path was blocked by a massive, glowing door inscribed with the words: "Welcome to Vex 7: The Shadow Maze." A low rumble echoed as the door opened, revealing a labyrinth shrouded in darkness and pulsing with ominous red lights.

"Shadow Maze? Sounds... welcoming," Max muttered sarcastically. He revved Beastie’s engine. "Let’s see what trouble we’re getting into this time."

The Rules of Survival

A shadowy figure appeared, its voice deep and commanding. "Welcome, traveler. To escape the Shadow Maze, you must navigate deadly traps, solve puzzles, and prove your agility. Only the strongest survive." Max smirked. "Traps, puzzles, and agility? Sounds like a typical Tuesday."

The figure ignored his sarcasm. "Beware: failure means starting over. Good luck... you’ll need it."

The Maze of Peril

As Max entered the maze, he quickly realized this wasn’t just a series of corridors—it was a deadly obstacle course designed to test every ounce of skill and wit he possessed:

• The Blade Gauntlet: Rotating saw blades spun unpredictably across the path. Max timed his moves carefully, guiding Beastie through narrow gaps. "Note to self: avoid mazes with blades," he muttered.
• The Disappearing Platforms: A series of platforms flickered in and out of existence. Max had to time his jumps perfectly, his heart racing as Beastie barely landed each leap.
• The Shadow Sentinel: A massive, shadowy guardian roamed the maze, blocking paths and chasing intruders. Max distracted it by triggering a trap, sending it tumbling into a pit. "Outsmarted by a guy with a busted car," he quipped.

The Puzzle of Light

Deep within the maze, Max encountered a puzzle that seemed impossible: a massive grid of glowing tiles, each pulsing in a different rhythm. The instructions read: "Align the tiles to form the path of light."

"Great. A giant, glowing Rubik’s Cube," Max groaned. After several frustrating attempts, he realized the tiles were synced to the maze’s background music. "A musical puzzle? Fine, let’s do this."

Following the rhythm, Max aligned the tiles, unlocking a hidden door that led to the maze’s final chamber.

The Final Test

The last challenge was a race against time. The walls of the maze began to close in, and the floor started to crumble. Max pushed Beastie to its limits, dodging falling debris and leaping over gaping chasms. Just as the exit came into view, the Shadow Sentinel reappeared, roaring with fury.

"Not today, buddy!" Max shouted, activating a boost. Beastie shot forward, narrowly escaping as the maze collapsed behind them.

Victory in the Shadows

Outside the maze, the shadowy figure reappeared, clapping slowly. "You’ve conquered Vex 7. Few have made it this far. Take this as a symbol of your victory." A glowing medallion materialized on Beastie’s dashboard, shimmering with an otherworldly light.

"Thanks," Max said, panting. "But next time, how about a picnic instead of a death maze?"

As he drove away, Max couldn’t help but grin. "Another maze, another win. What’s next, Beastie? A rollercoaster?"
